Bengaluru-based diagnostics startup SigTuple raised ₹112 crores ($16 million) in Series C round from Trusted Insight. Existing investors including Accel Partners, Pi Ventures, Chiratae Ventures and Flipkart’s co-founder Binny Bansal also participated in the funding round. Binny will join SigTuple’s board as a part of the deal.
The startup will use the freshly raised capital to improve customer experience and boost healthcare services using data-driven intelligence. Founded by Apurv Anand, Bharath Cheluvaraju, Rohit Pandey and Tathagato Dastidar in 2015, the startup has developed software and hardware using artificial intelligence to digitize pathological tests.
SigTuple’s flagship product Manthana helps to analyze visual medical data efficiently including analysis of peripheral blood smears, urine microscopy, semen, fundus and OCT scans as well as chest x-rays. With a strong team of 100 people, the startup has deployed more than 30 devices to analyze blood samples.
The startup is also in the process of raising debt funds. Earlier it raised ₹133 crores ($19 million) from Venture Highway, Accel, Axilor Ventures, Endiya Partners, IDG Ventures, Pi Ventures, Trifecta Capital and Binny Bansal in June 2018. The startup has raised a total of ₹280 crores ($40 million) in all funding rounds since its inception.
