Bengaluru-based assisted e-commerce platform for retailers ShopX has acquired Pune-based omnichannel mobile phone retail brand GabbarDeals. As a part of the deal, ShopX will use GabbarDeals’ expertise in retail and brand partnerships and combine it with its technical expertise to expand the brand presence.
The deal amount has not been disclosed. However, the GabbarDeals’ 10-member team has joined ShopX post the acquisition. Nandan Nilekani-backed ShopX has rebranded GabbarDeals to ShopX Edge as a new brand of mobile phone stores. The company is set to launch the new brand across several tier I, II and III cities.
Founded by Niraj Raka, GabbarDeals sells mobile accessories, tablets, data cards, laptops and other electronic products across West India. The startup has partnered with brands like Apple, Samsung, VIVI, Oppo, Motorola, Lenovo, Huawei, Tecno and Foxconn.
