BJP has always been on the go for their amazing startup policies. Last week Bihar’s CM Nitish Kumar announced a ₹500 crores startup fund within the new Bihar Startup Policy 2017, how can a BJP led state lack behind. With a new motivation in the startup ecosystem, Manohar Parrikar, CM of Goa, has now announced a $25.8 Mn (₹169 crores) fund for the IT Sector.

The same includes a $2.29 Mn (₹15 crores) fund for startups with the aim to create 4000 jobs every year. Few more policies like setting up a startup promotion board in the upcoming 4 years, could be a great move by Mr. Parikar. To add to the decorum of announcement, he allocated $76,000 (₹50 lakhs) for building incubation centers and entrepreneurship development centers in the state.

Commenting on the implementations, Mr. Parrikar said, “There is no evidence that more regulations make things better. With minimizing regulations my government will emphasize on ease of doing business initiatives in Goa and implement the business reform action plan in the state, to be among the top 10 Indian states through an e-governance platform, integrating and synergizing all government departments and entities.”

The Goa government will implement major changes to support companies. Followed by the proper visualization and implementation of Goa IT Investment Policy 2017, Mr. Parrikar assured that the Chimbel IT Park would be completed in the next two years after taking all the stakeholders into confidence.

Several media reported that the startup boom has witnessed a slowdown. We too see that but from a very different perspective. There may be a downfall in the coverages and craze among students. But certainly, the government has been indulged in the development of startups from the very beginning of when Narendra Modi rose to power.

Earlier, Haryana government has announced a fund of $150 Mn (₹1000 crores) for industries with a prime focus on medium and small scale enterprises. A lot more changes are being implemented by state governments of Karnataka, Delhi, Jharkhand, Bihar, Haryana and more. The state of Chattisgarh also launched “Startup Chattisgarh” initiative.
