Axilor Ventures led the first round of funding for event marketplace startup called “Events High”. Events High is a marketplace for local events and activities. The recent fundraiser will help the startup expand its organizer base and revolutionize user experience on the platform.
After successfully grabbing more than 3500 organisers in Bangalore, Events High is all set to expand its supplier acquisition efforts in Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai.
Axilor Ventures is a new generation platform for supporting early stage entrepreneurs. Founded by S.D. Shibulal, Kris Gopalakrishnan, Srinath Batni, Professor Tarun Khanna and Ganapathy Venugopal.
Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chairman Axilor Ventures said, “The fascinating thing about event marketplaces is that these are transitioning into communities and thriving ecosystems. Events High is unique as it is more than a listing platform. Being deep tech-enabled, it has the potential to change the way events are consumed by users.”
The startup is the brainchild of 4 co-founders Nikesh Garera, Arvind Batra, Parag Sarda and Abhishek Shrivastava. Nikesh is an alumnus from Carnegie Mellon and Johns Hopkins where he pursued his MS and Ph.D respectively.
Arvind did his MS from Georgia Tech and he, along with Nikesh also worked at Kosmix which was later acquired and became Walmart Labs. Parag Sarda worked at Google and Walmart Labs and has an ME from Indian Institute of Science.
Claiming to reach the milestone of 500,000 monthly visitors and 200,000 app downloads, the Events High team has 22 working staff in their Bangalore office.
