Automation Anywhere acquires Klevops

SoftBank-backed robotic process automation startup Automation Anywhere has acquired Paris-based Klevops for an undisclosed amount. Post-acquisition, Automation Anywhere will fast forward the RPA category to help managers easily orchestrate workflows across a team of employees and bots.

Founded by Ankur Kothari, Mihir Shulka, Rushabh Parmani and Neeti Mehta in 2003, the startup enables automation of business processes with a global presence. The company has its operational bases in Mumbai, Vadodara, and Bengaluru. The startup helps customers automate processes with the same level of central governance, security, and analytic capability.

The startup has raised more than ₹3,500 crores till date with ₹2,100 crores coming in its latest round from SoftBank Vision Fund. The startup provides a complete suite of AI-driven products capable if automating the business processes at scale including Enterprise RPA platform, IQ Bot, and Bot Insight.


Prince Kohli, chief technology officer, Automation Anywhere said, “The acquired technology from Klevops will alter the dynamics between attended and unattended automation making it a foundational solution for companies scaling their automation initiatives across all industries. This is especially relevant to contact center-intensive industries like banking, financial services, and telecommunications.”

Automation Anywhere serves more than 2,800 customer entities and 1,600 enterprise brands through its AI-enabled solutions to manage and scale business processes efficiently. Through this acquisition, the startup will enable several employees to orchestrate attended automation tasks across multiple groups of employees.

“Klevops shares a similar mission to create business value through human-to-bot collaboration improving how we solve customer service challenges,” said Nicolas Piau, Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder, Klevops. He added that the company believes that this acquisition will allow it to address the inevitable demand for attended automation and the ability to automate a broader range of tasks.

The startup competes with global startups like New York-based UiPath, San Francisco-based Ifrrd and others. UiPath also raised ₹1,575 crores from CapitalG and Sequoia Capital this year. The global RPA market was valued at ₹2,499 crores in 2017 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 31.1% till 2025.

Automation Anywhere competes with global players such as New York-based UiPath, San Francisco-based enterprise AI startup Infrrd and more. UiPath had also raised $225 Mn in a Series C funding round, co-led by existing investor CapitalG and new investor Sequoia Capital along with existing investor Accel Partners.
