While blockchain and cryptocurrency remain a controversial topic in India witnessing huge ups and downs in the current year. With the government of India’s statements towards cryptocurrency and RBI ban on crypto transactions, Indian blockchain and crypto enthusiasts seem to lose hope in the technology’s future in the nation.

However, not every government official has an eye towards draconian blockchain regulation. In the state of Andhra Pradesh, the APIS (Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society), blockchain is being promoted exquisitely at various levels.

In particular, Tech Mahindra’s Eleven01 is getting a lot of buzz in the region. The firm has partnered with APIS to promote blockchain technology in all means possible ranging from educational programs to mentorship events and more.

APIS will explore the prospects and applications of blockchain through a set of events, activities and mentorship programs to nurture uprising talents in the community in association with Tech Mahindra’s Eleven01. The alliance will foster the creation of the finest blockchain ecosystem in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Eleven01’s chief product officer Ramachandran Iyer said, “The association with the government of Andhra Pradesh is quite invaluable to our team. We visualise India to be a blockchain-hub and the support from the state here brings us a step closer to achieving that. Together, we will contribute towards the development of the best blockchain-ready talent pool and innovations in the state.”

Andhra Pradesh was the first state to adopt blockchain into government and administration operations. The state is using blockchain for keeping land records as well s vehicle titles. The southern parts of India have been witnessed early adopters of blockchain whereas the northern parts of India and the governments there have so far been to regulate or prosecute the technology.
