The Singapore-based online jobs search platform Sendhelper has raised $500,000 in seed funding from Asian technology investor Captii Ventures. With the recent development, the startup will expand its job search platform for blue-collared workers in India.
Founded by IIM Bengaluru alumnus Rupam Biswas, the firm provides an e-commerce platform to provide household services such as cleaning, cooking and laundry in Singapore.
“Our experience in the B2C services segment led us to discover that there was also a constant challenge for Singapore’s employers to fulfil the demand for manpower for non-executive positions. We believe similar challenges exist in many developing markets as also in India where we plan to foray”, Biswas said.
Sendjobs, the job search arm of Sendhelper has attracted more than 500 employers in Singapore in the past five months, according to Biswas. Biswas earlier worked as a an investment manager at India’s IDFC group prior to founding the startup.
Captii Ventures is the venture capital investing arm of Singapore stock exchange-listed Captii Ltd. Its portfolio of investments includes Indonesia-based mobile commerce companies and online payment platforms.
