I recently heard that you are speaking at IIT Kharagpur. How does it feel? Can u share your journey from 6K Job to Speaking at IIT Kharagpur?

I am really feeling good to speak at IIT Kharagpur, this is a proud moment for my parents who always used to think that my son will be an IITian but I am not passed out from IIT but still I am running my own business.

My journey from 6K to speaking at IIT Kharagpur is gone through lots of ups and down. I never used to be happy while doing my job, I was very lonely in my life. Life was so boring and I didn’t want to talk to my family too when I was doing my job.

Nobody supported when I started blogging but eventually when I started making money my family believed in my dreams.

I have seen many newbie bloggers bragging about their income. I asked some of them and they replied that it is necessary for branding. What are your thoughts on this?

I don’t think so, I don’t share anything about my income stats and whatever I earn I am very happy, if someone is comfortable is showing income stats then it is their own wish but I personally don’t like to share my income for now.

If your work is credible and you have the right set of skills, then income stats really doesn’t matter, skills are more important to deliver value to people.

You can attract with fake income screenshots but if you can’t provide real value to your user then you are losing authority in your niche.

I learned that you get angry easily. Did you get over it? What do you advise to others to control anger? What are the negative impacts of anger in business?

Yes, I used to get angry very easily but now I have control on it. My girlfriend used to say that you get angry easily so I decided to control my anger by doing some meditation and gymming.

Yes, anger can impact your business a lot, don’t take decisions in anger you can suffer huge losses there.

You can lose money or relationship in anger, I was on the verge of losing my relationship due to anger attitude, so try to control whenever possible.

Think how much you can lose while being in anger, once you lost your loved ones they will never come back to you. Money comes & goes but love never comes back.

You are self funded. How can one manage self funding for his startup? What are the pre-requisites if someone is thinking to bootstrap his startup?

Yes I am self funded, I don’t have experience running a startup but I would like to whenever you are starting something try to arranged funds from yourself, use your savings and ask your family for funds but never in beginning for investments.

Work on your idea, no idea is small all you need is dedication to work on it. Solve the problem and see people will love your product. Find the pain points of general audience and work on that idea seriously.

WittyFeed is nice example of bootstrap startup, they worked really hard in the beginning, they were bankrupt and taken loans from their relatives.

This story is great Example how self determination can lead to success of your startup. Never give up on your idea.

You were the Brand Ambassador of Payoneer in India. Hearing this I got a lot of questions in mind? What is the secret behind grabbing this opportunity?

Payoneer was looking for the brand ambassador from India, they were in Delhi for some business meetings and they were looking for someone who had good social media presence they saw Chitra and me having great social presence, we met at them networking dinner and soon after 2 days of meeting we got offer from them to be our brand ambassador.

There were many bloggers too at the networking event but they didn’t focus on Payoneer they were busy in chilling and we were busy in making business deals.

I would always recommend going to events build your network exchange business cards and talk some business. Don’t waste your time by pulling legs of each other.

What have you learned throughout your journey? What qualities should on have to become successful?

I had learned a lot of things while doing blogging. It had changed my life a lot, I never dream of going to international events but now I go to international events and meet a lot of millionaire’s.

Some qualities to become successful:

  • Go to events & network with right people
  • Start blog and promote your services there
  • Follow experts in your niche &  make them your mentors
  • Read blogs daily and build your social circle
  • Hang out with like-minded people, don’t engage with losers
  • Attend quality workshops to enhance your skills. Don’t look for free always
  • Read books and work in a team to get more success.
  • Remember your network is your net worth.

What are the challenges you faced in your journey? How did you overcome them? What was the most depressing moment in your life?

Many challenges I faced in my journey but I never give up at bad times. One piece of advice here would be having some great people in your life who want to see you successful, be with them & share your story with them.

You will feel good. Whenever I feel low and depressed in my business, I talk to my best friends and share my problem. They motivate me a lot and say Jitendra you are the one who inspires a lot so don’t break our hope.

The most depressing moment in my life was when my family didn’t support my journey and they never believe in my dreams, I was really alone at that time but soon after my success they realized my potential.
