Bengaluru-based parenting social network for startups Healofy has raised ₹70 crores in Series A funding round from Baby Tree, a China-based parenting platform, Omidyar Network, BAce Capital and Pierre Omidyar, founder of eBay. This round is the highest institutional funding in this space.

The startup plans to use the freshly raised capital to improve its content systems, include big data technology and enhance market reach. Earlier in March 2018, the startup raised ₹7 crores in seed funding from Omidyar Network. In October 2017, Healofy raised ₹70 lakhs from angel investors like Anupam Mittal, founder of Shaadi.com and Jitendra Gupta, founder of Citrus Pay.

Founded by Gaurav Aggarwal and Shubham Maheshwari in 2015, Healofy is a P2P content platform for moms. The theme caters around health and lifestyle in the form of user-generated content and questions and answers on pregnancy and parenting. Healofy is available in 11 languages including English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati and Tamil.

Moreover, the startup was also selected in Facebook’s “FBStart” program and launched a WhatsApp smart assistant bot-based Helpline in 2016. Healofy competes with startups like Parenttune, Babychakra, Babygogo, Tinystep, Parentlane and others in the pregnancy and parenting segments.
