Travel technology startup Guiddoo has raised INR 6 crores ($800K to be exact) in a series A funding round from global investors like Rennie Ratadia, a Singapore-based investor, Dubai-based Stephen Dmello, and Angshuman Sarkar, an Indian investor.
The startup will use the freshly raised capital to further improve its technology and expand its operations to global markets. Guiddoo is also planning to introduce more products and destinations using the funds.
The startup will enter into the Chinese market by the end of February 2019. Guiddoo has partnered with more than 4,500 travel agents and offers targeted experiences across 15 international destinations. The startup currently operates in four Indian states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Founded by Nidhi Varma, Biswajeet Karmakar, Prashant Choudhary and Vineet Budki in2014, the startup operates a tour guiding app turned in-destination platform. Along with tours and activities, Indian consumers can shop, dine and book entertainment related activities on the platform.
With over 30,000 customers and 60,000 activities since its inception, the startup has grown significantly grown with its iOS and Android platforms. Earlier in June 2017, Guiddoo also raised $300K in the Pre Series A funding round from individual investors, while in 2015, it raised an undisclosed amount in a seed funding round.
