SenseHawk secures $2 Mn funding from SAIF Partners

Founded by Rahul Sankhe and Swarup Mavanoor in 2006, the cloud-based enterprise startup SenseHawk has raised $2 Mn in series A round from SAIF Partners. Several other angel investors also participated int he funding round. SenseHawk has office locations in San Francisco, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

The startup plans to use the funds to scale up its business and improve engineering. The startup is also looking forward to expanding its footprint to other geographical locations by hiring talent to support growth. SenseHawk provides an intelligent cloud-based platform to maximize energy and infrastructure asset performance with a prime focus on utility-scale solar.

SenseHawk’s solutions combine the use of different kinds of unmanned aerial vehicles, data processing, sensors and planning chains to create effective decision-making tools to drive productivity for large-scale enterprises. The company currently operates with a 20 member team serving more than 20 corporate clients. In March 2016, the startup raised $100,000 in seed funding.

Talking about the investment, Mayank Khanduja, Principal, SAIF Partners said, “We are thrilled to partner with Sensehawk in their quest to build a unique data solutions platform that leverages computer vision and artificial intelligence. We are impressed at the upside that Sensehawk solution brings to the multi-billion dollar Solar industry today and will soon do the same for other industries,”

He further added, “As the solar industry attracts more investment, we believe that Swarup, Rahul and their team will be at the forefront of building an intelligent analytics platform that allows asset owners to maximize asset performance, and we feel excited to work with them on this next phase of growth.”

Major players in the AI, ML and data analytics sector includes Niki.ai, Flutura, Active.ai, Arya.ai and Netradyne, with several others. India’s analytics and business intelligence market is worth $304 million in 2018. Indian organizations are shifting from traditional, tactical and tool-centric data and analytics projects to strategic, modern and architecture-centric data and analytics programs.
