Indore headquartered tech-driven sanitation startup Fresh Rooms has secured INR 3 crores in seed funding from an individual angel investor. The name of the investors is however undisclosed.
The startup will use the funds to expand the brand to multiple cities and busiest destinations all over the country.
Fresh Rooms is owned and operated by Feeinsta Consulting and Services Private Limited and was founded by Ashutosh Giri. It is a pay-and-use washroom service provider which provides a luxurious and hygienic toilet and bathroom space with additions like Cafe, Luggage room as well as restrooms.
The IoT-based smart and automated toilets automatically clean up after use and the operations are mostly solar power driven which provides an eco-friendly model.
Ashutosh Giri, Founder, Fresh Rooms, said, “The perception about public toilets in India is completely gloomy. That’s why we have taken this challenge to change the entire eco system of public sanitisation. Nowhere else in the world such facilities are available.”
The startup has launched an app which allows the customers to acquire detailed information about the nearbuy facilities including address, details of opening hours, parking as well as accessibility within a few taps of their fingers.
Fresh Rooms plans to raise additional funds and is in talks with other investors for the same. The startup claims to work in line with the Swachh Bharat Mission to make the country open defecation free by October 2019.
The founder, Mr Giri has an extensive 11 years experience in sales and relationship management. Prior to founding Fresh Rooms, he has worked with Daikin Airconditions as an assistant manager. He has also worked with Panasonic India.
The hygiene space in India is packed with opportunities. Earlier this year, PeeSafe, the toilet safe sanitiser manufacturing startup has raised INR 6.3 crores from new and existing investors. Another startup PeeBuddy, the startup which manufactures a funnel-shaped device to help women pee while standing has raised INR 2.96 crores from Indian Angel Network.
