The Tournament has seen more than 50 Start-Up teams with over 500start-up professionals vying for top honors in box-cricket.  While the Hyderabad edition is taking place over the weekend of August 2nd, 3rd, & 4th, the Bengaluru edition is scheduled for early September.

The highlight of the tournament is Chiefs-on-Strike match where 16 CEOs from the tech corridors of the city will compete over a box-cricket match, designed to mark the beginning of the tournament and to underline the industry trend of multinational companies championing Start-Ups & Entrepreneurship as a way of fostering the innovation culture.

Mr. Sanket Atal, Managing Director, Intuit India Development Centre, says, “As a company, we are passionate about promoting small business and start-up prosperity. Our program Intuit Circles is a personal ecosystem for start-ups that enables business growth and knowledge through product integration, mentorship, and financial management training. We are delighted to be presenting the start-up box-cricket tournament in association with Cykul. Through such initiatives, we want to celebrate start-ups and invite them to be a part of an ecosystem where they can find an ally.”

HOOK! is an innovative sports event conducted for start-ups and fast emerging SMEs, as a sports platform where entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, and other ecosystem partners come together to network& interact and share best practices.

It also serves as employee engagement and a health/wellness platform for the companies who otherwise lack such opportunities.

Speaking on the event, Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, IT (Govt. of Telangana) says, “Hyderabad has already created a buzz about its booming startup base which has got global visibility. Networking platforms like this foster a well-knitted culture that helps entrepreneurs to share visions and develop healthy practices. We are very glad that Intuit has taken this innovative approach to drive home that point.”

Cykul, through its digital Leagues platform, is managing this tournament and is keen to take this concept nationally.  Cykul’s products, the LifeCykul APP and its AI-enabled tech-platform are the backbones of this type of sports events.

Mr. DeenanathHarapanahalli, Founder & CEO of Cykul says, “We believe that sports can be harnessed for many purposes.  Just like advertisers use sports platforms to reinforce their brands, Corporates can use these events and platforms to reach out to Start-Ups and communicate helpful messages effectively.  I don’t think any indoor event, no matter how fancy, could have brought out the relevance of financial literacy for start-ups, as well as this sporting event.”

The HOOK! The tournament will run over 3days each in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, and throughout that time, many mentors, investors, advisors, etc will be seen connecting with Start-Up founders and teams and exploring how they can guide them.
